INFORMATION
Volunteers are entered into a roster and given either full or half day shifts.
Full day - 9am to 5pm
Half day - 9am to 1pm; or 1pm to 5pm
We're aiming to have 4 full-day volunteer shifts rostered each day. Roles are generally as follows:
- 2 at the information station
- 1 at surf club entrance
- 1 at the Taurikura kohatu
They are able to rotate across the stations, and the roles can be adjusted if volunteers are called to other mahi on the maunga.
They come with a raft of experience and interests, so include them on other available activities where possible, offer to share kōrero, utilise the opportunity to build awareness.

MANAGEMENT
A Kaitiaki Matua (Maarie, Tarpz, Andrea, Porina, Osh) needs to be rostered on each day to do the following:
- Let them through the bollards
- Induction
- Facilitate set up
- Provide assistance throughout the day
- Take up roles that haven't been filled
Kaitiaki Matua are not required to stay on to 5pm, however there will be days where the rostered volunteers may struggle with pack down. So we'll manage accordingly, which may require a Kaitiaki Matua to be onsite at pack down.
